Toring stays true to promise, remains at Adamson with Almonte

Challenging has been the last couple of weeks for Adamson University’s women’s volleyball team.

Coming off a high — finishing third in the recently-concluded UAAP Season 85 tournament, the Lady Falcons saw the departure of their coach and several key players.

However, two Adamsonians have opted to remain with the school to play out their senior year and serve as inspiration for the next generation of Lady Falcons.

These are seniors Lorene Toring and Lucille Almonte.

Both Toring and Almonte are already seniors and have had offers on the table to go pro. But despite the allure of playing in the big league, the two chose to remain in San Marcelino for one last run.

For Toring, keeping her word to the ‘klasmeyts’ is something she values and cherishes.

“It is very important to stay true to my commitment to the Adamson community and especially to Father Aldrin (Suan), our athletic director,” said Toring, who was the 28th-best scorer of Season 85.

“Isa din po sa mga rason kung bakit ako nag-stay ay dahil gusto kong tapusin ang nasimulan noong Season 85.”

Though it will be tough, Yude, Toring, and Almonte will pick up the pieces and give the school new hope.

And the new chapter of the Adamson Lady Falcons will begin with the Shakey’s National Invitational League next month.
