Penny Estacio comes back home to San Beda

Penny Estacio is coming back home.

The 6-foot gunslinger has decided to leave De La Salle University to join San Beda University.

Estacio confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

“I’m truly grateful for the trust they bestowed upon me during my rookie year,’ said the 20-year-old, who spent two years with La Salle but only played in one season there.

“My time at DLSU provided me with invaluable lessons, and I’m carrying them with me wherever I go.”

Estacio was the sparkplug of the Green Archers during UAAP Season 85, averaging 4.77 points, 1.62 rebounds, and 1.69 assists per game.

Now, Estacio will get to reunite with familiar faces in the likes of Bryan Sajonia, Joe Celzo, and Menard Songcuya — all of whom were also part of the FEU program.

Estacio also gets to deal with some unfinished business with fellow-Red Cubs products Calimag bros.

“I opted for San Beda because, from a practical standpoint, it offers me the most opportunities. Additionally, I’m acquainted with the school and the people, having studied here during my high school years,” he said

“I’m also thrilled about reuniting with my Season 100 teammates, and I’m eagerly anticipating the chance to play alongside my former teammates once again. This is something I’m eagerly looking forward to.”

Also waiting in the wings for San Beda’s NCAA 100 lineup are Bismarck Lina and Ronrei Tolentino.
