PBA Draft: NLEX adds to guard depth, obtains Richie Rodger at 7

Having Kevin Alas and Matt Nieto is not sufficient for NLEX.

The Road Warriors selected Fil-Kiwi point guard Richie Rodger as the seventh overall pick in the 2023 PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday afternoon at Market! Market! in Taguig.

Rodger, aged 26, had a lot of catching up to do over the last couple of days as he had to skip the Draft Combine to fix his passport.

Once he obtained it, he attended numerous private workouts, impressing in each and every one of them.

The 6-foot-2 guard spent the last five seasons in the NZ-NBL, playing for Taranaki and Otago.

He averaged 8.40 points, 3.07 assists, and 2.40 rebounds last season. Rodger is also a bona fide member of the Tall Blacks pool.
