Tough loss against Blacklist helped RSG conquer Bren, says Panda

A day before their match against AP.Bren, RSG Philippines suffered a heartbreaking opening game loss at the hands of Blacklist International.

RSG attempted to force a base turret siege in the 18th minute, only to be punished with a 4-2 retaliation that reversed the result in one fell swoop.

“Kahapon, walang minions tapos they were trying to hit the base turret. Pero walang nag-shot call na walang minions,” recalled RSG coach Brian “Panda” Lim, referring to the late-game sequence that determined the outcome of their opening game against Blacklist.

This time, however, RSG played a more calculated match that resulted in their sixth win against four losses.

“At least dahil sa nakita nila sa laro kahapon, they improved on one point, which is trying to end the game prematurely. Natuto na sila,” said Panda.

The Hall of Legends inductee is also pleased with the way his squad has improved after stumbling to a 2-3 record in the first two weeks of action.

RSG has now won four of their last five matches, thanks to better communication and composure in the late game, as evidenced by their resilient performance against AP.Bren.

“Before, they were hesitating sa mga executions, lalo na noong Week 1 and 2. Ngayon, they’re calculating kung go or wag muna before they actually try to commit. That’s a good thing,” explained Panda, who was visibly pleased with his team’s performance in Week 4.

RSG now sits second in the standings, and a win over Minana Evos on October 7 will further boost their bid for an automatic upper bracket berth, which they last achieved back in Season 9 when they won the championship.
