Creamline allows Ced Domingo to chase overseas dreams

On Wednesday afternoon, the Creamline Cool Smashers announced that star middle blocker Ced Domingo has decided to sign with a foreign team.

Domingo is following in the footsteps of Jia De Guzman, who is set to play in the V.League with the Denso Airybees.

We are proud and excited to announce that, with great respect and understanding, Creamline management has carefully considered Ceddie’s request to play for a foreign team and has granted her permission to pursue her dreams abroad,” said Creamline in a statement.

“While this decision impacts our own team’s title chances, we believe that supporting her in achieving her personal goals and being recognized as one of a handful of Filipino volleyball players invited as a foreign reinforcement is an important part of our commitment to her growth as an athlete.”

Domingo has been a pivotal part of the Cool Smashers’ dynasty, helping the star-studded squad win four PVL championships over the last five years.

The former Far Eastern University standout also emerged as one of the top middle blockers in the Philippines over the past two years. Domingo took home the Finals MVP award in the 2022 Invitational Conference while also winning the Best Middle Blocker award in the 2023 edition of the conference.PVL-AFC-Creamline-vs.-Choco-Mucho-Kyla-Atienza-Ced-Domingo-4472 Creamline allows Ced Domingo to chase overseas dreams News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“We understand that opportunities like these do not come often, and we want to ensure that Ceddie has the chance to explore and experience the world of volleyball to its fullest. We’re confident in her abilities and believe that this experience will significantly contribute to her development as a player,” said the organization.

Creamline mentioned that Domingo’s agency, Virtual Playground, will share more details about her upcoming overseas stint in the coming days.

“Ceddie and Virtual Playground will be sharing details of where she will take her talents soon. In the meantime, although we’ll sorely miss her presence on the team, we wholeheartedly wish her the best of luck in this new endeavor,” shared Creamline.

The 24-year-old Domingo sat out the Cool Smashers’ 25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 25-21 victory over sister squad Choco Mucho last Sunday after undergoing a dental procedure.

“May this opportunity bring her immense joy, growth, and success. We hope that she seizes every moment, learns from new experiences, and creates lasting memories,” said Creamline.

“Ceddie, we’re very proud of you. You’ve worked hard for and deserve this. Go out there, give it your all, and make your dreams come true.”
