Questions Abound: What’s next for Jerom Lastimosa after injury scare in comeback game?

Jerom Lastimosa made his much-anticipated season debut for Adamson University on Wednesday, but it did not go as planned.

The 5-foot-10 point guard did not play for the entirety of the first round due to a knee injury.

Tonight, he entered the court for the first time in UAAP Season 86 at the 2:10 mark of the first quarter of their game against University of the Philippines — to the ovation of the crowd present at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

After playing seven minutes and 10 seconds in the first half, Lastimosa was fielded again at around the six-minute mark of the third quarter.

Then, with 5:19 left in the third period shock and horror came.

As the 25-year-old graduating guard drove to the basket, he clashed knees with Fighting Maroon Gerry Abadiano as he attempted a behind-the-back dribble.

Lastimosa was then helped to the dugout, limping.

The pride of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, finished with two points, two rebounds, a block, and two turnovers in eight minutes and 18 seconds of playing time.

Fans have been questioning the decision to play Lastimosa on social media.

And now, questions loom on the extent of Lastimosa’s injury.
