Six-Season Journey Ends in Gold: AP.Bren crushes Blacklist in MPL PH 12 Finals

Francis “Duckey” Glindro and AP.Bren are champions once again.

After six seasons, AP.Bren returned to prominence with a convincing 4-1 victory against Blacklist International in the grand finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City on Sunday.

It was a perfect ending for the squad on the day their coach was inducted into the league’s Hall of Legends.

“It’s hard to explain because we achieved all this in just one day. I mean, the Hall of Legends is the result of my players’ hard work. I couldn’t have achieved it on my own. So, I’m very thankful that I have these guys with me, and along the way, we won this tournament. You know, they were with me,” Duckey said when asked about getting inducted into the Hall of Legends and winning the Season 12 title.

After AP.Bren took a commanding 2-0 series lead, the three-time MPL PH champs asserted their dominance in Game 3. Kiel “Oheb” Soriano (Ixia) had an impressive 11-0-2 KDA, leading Blacklist’s 13-1 dominance in the kill score and halting the losing streak at 2-1.

But the reigning IESF world champions easily secured Game 4 in just 15 minutes, reaching match point at 3-1. Kyle Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson (Martis) shone the brightest, finishing with a flawless 3-0-2 KDA.

In Game 5, AP.Bren turned the tide against Blacklist’s early game dominance by relying on Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo’s (Ruby) conceal play in the 20th minute, followed by David “FlapTzy” Canon’s (Arlott) Final Slash and his I’m Offended set-up.

This sequence of skill layering resulted in Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s (Faramis) double kill, leading to a 4-1 exchange and securing the enhanced lord that ultimately won them back the championship.

AP.Bren and Blacklist International will represent MPL Philippines at the M5 World Championship in December here in Manila.
