Sanjii picks AP.Bren over Onic as the top team in M5

For Triple Esports’ Ayman “Sanjii” Alqarni, AP.Bren is the team with the best chance to win it all in the M5 World Championship.

“Based on the performance that Onic showed against us, I think AP.Bren will easily win the M5. Or at least Blacklist. It’s either AP.Bren or Blacklist,” claimed Sanjii.

During their M5 group stage match against Onic Esports, Triple Esports impressed with a competitive Game 1, securing all the objectives until the 13th minute enhanced lord. They fought toe-to-toe against the Indonesian champions, but Onic completed the sweep after pulling out all the stops.

Sanjii is also no stranger to AP.Bren, as he was a member of the Saudi Arabian national MLBB team that finished with a bronze at the IESF World Esports Championship this year in Iasi, Romania.

During the IESF, Sibol ML, led by the AP.Bren roster, swept Saudi Arabia in the upper bracket finals to book their spot in the gold medal match.

But for Triple Esports skipper Mohammed “Tarzan” Kharabah, it’s still a toss-up between Onic and AP.Bren, despite them faring relatively better against Onic compared to the all-Filipino squad.

“For me, it’s between Onic and AP.Bren. Yes, Onic struggled against us, but in the playoffs, they’ll be different,” he said.

Although elated by this assessment from Sanjii, AP.Bren head coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro believes his team can still do a lot more than what they have shown so far.

“I’m grateful for their kind words for my team, thinking that we are the strongest performing team in M5 right now. I personally think it’s not yet our championship performance. We can definitely improve more, and we’ll show that in the knockout stages,” said Glindro.

AP.Bren and Onic both swept their group stage matches and will head to the knockouts as the top seeds from their respective groups.
