Eya Laure plays through flu in do-or-die vs Creamline: ‘Ayokong may regret’

Eya Laure still fought for Chery Tiggo in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference semifinals Game 2 despite feeling under the weather.

Although the Crossovers bowed to Creamline in the series, the 5-foot-10 fiery spiker left the court with no what-ifs.

Laure has been known to give her all during her stint with the Golden Tigresses back in the UAAP.

And she has not changed. She also gave credit to the Crossovers coaching staff for always checking up on her during the game and even before.

“Salamat pa rin sa coaches kasi nandun sila, nagtatanong sila kung kaya ko ba ganyan. Of course nandun din yung PTs namin, yung strength and conditioning coaches para iguide ako,” said Laure, who finished with just five points in the straight sets loss to Creamline.

Although they missed out on a Finals appearance, the young Chery Tiggo squad can still make the podium of the season-ending conference of the Sports Vision-organized league.

The Crossovers will have another series for the bronze medal, facing the loser between Choco Mucho and Cignal.

And there, fans can expect that Laure will still play her heart out.

“Syempre una recovery muna talaga kasi kahit hanggang ngayon medyo mabigat pa rin yung pakiramdam pero ang dami ko ding sinusubukang i fuel ulit yung katawan kasi yung pagod nararamdam na,” said the second-generation athlete.

“Syempre hindi pa tapos yung laban, hindi man kami nakapasok sa Finals pero kumbaga may battle for bronze pa nga so ayun syempre hindi rin naman basta-basta na mawala ulit samin yung chance na yun.”
