Lopez, Cansino personally apologize to carnival worker

CJ Cansino and Francis Lopez personally extended their apologies to Jomari Aquino, the employee at the Horror Train of the Subic Fiesta Carnival.

The apologies came in the wake of an unfortunate incident during the UP Fighting Maroons’ recent visit to the Subic Bay Freeport, where Lopez was captured on video attempting to remove Aquino’s mask.

Expressing remorse for the unsettling incident, both Cansino and Lopez took steps to mend relations with Aquino.

As a gesture of goodwill, they presented him with a university shirt and a basketball jersey.

Aquino graciously accepted the apologies.

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority played a crucial role in mediating the involved parties, facilitated by the Public Relations Office.

The intervention aimed to prevent further escalation of the issue on social media and underscored the agency’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the Subic Bay Freeport workforce.

Lopez, acknowledging the severity of his actions, publicly apologized on social media last December 26.

The incident, initially shared by team captain CJ Cansino, showed Lopez’s ill-advised attempt to unmask a carnival employee during a horror train ride.

The video swiftly went viral, prompting widespread criticism due to the perceived recklessness of Lopez’s behavior.

In his social media statement, Lopez expressed regret, taking full responsibility for his actions.

“Inadvertently, I hurt a carnival employee in one of the carnival rides. This thoughtless moment was recorded on video and was later posted on social media, and I take full responsibility for what happened,” he admitted.

Lopez went on to apologize for any harm caused and pledged to learn from the experience.
