Khrisha Cantor has no regrets spending 9 years at Adamson: ‘For the love of the game’

Khrisha Cantor has been playing softball since she was 11 years old, and the sport became her path to a quality education throughout her college years at Adamson University.

The now 25-year-old slugger knows that her prime is far from over and has decided to exhaust her playing years with the decorated softball squad in the UAAP.

“For the love of the game,” the Ivana National High School product in 2015 curtly stated what kept her going in collegiate softball.

“Tsaka gusto ko rin na gamitin ko lahat ng playing years ko, ‘yung complete five years. At gusto kong maiwan ‘yung Adamson na champion pa rin.”

Cantor, who is part of four championship teams of the current ten of the San Marcelino-based institution, had much motivation in accepting the challenge of building a legacy for one last time.

And for the concurrent RP Blu Girls standout, she likes what she is seeing with the current IX and believes they have what it takes to secure consecutive championship number 11 at the end of the season.

“Nakikita ko na na lumalaban sila kahit sa tune-ups, kahit sa mga (scrimmages). Basta ‘pag laro, laro. Ganoon na sila, ganoon na ‘yung mindset nila. Naa-adopt na nila ‘yung mindset dati na, if you want to be a champion, play like a champion,” she said.

“Yun ‘yung sinasabi sa ‘min lagi ni Coach Ana (Santiago) na nakikita ko the past few games na naglalaro sila — na naglalaro sila as a champion. Nilalaban nila ‘yung kung paano sila nag-training, kung paano sila nagpaka-pagod ng isang buong taon; ipinapakita nila sa mga resulta ng mga laro namin.”
