Aduke Ogunsanya faces second ACL tear

Choco Mucho announced on Saturday that middle blocker Aduke Ogunsanya has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and other structural damage in her left knee.

The injury occurred during the recent game against NXLED on February 22, 2024.

The official statement from Choco Mucho expressed the severity of the situation: “After the latest round of medical tests, the doctors diagnosed Aduke to have injured her ACL and other structures in her left knee last February 22, 2024, in the game versus NXLED. This injury will require surgery and 9-12 months of rehabilitation before she can make a comeback.”

This unfortunate turn of events comes as a heartbreaking setback for Ogunsanya, who had just recently fully recovered from an ACL tear back in 2022.

The 5-foot-11 middle blocker had been making a strong comeback.

“We are disheartened by this unfortunate development, considering Aduke had just fully recovered from her previous injury and is making a strong return. We are, however, confident in her resilience and spirit to overcome this challenge once again,” the statement continued.

Choco Mucho, no stranger to ACL injuries, faced a similar situation last year when Des Cheng suffered an ACL tear.

Now, the Flying Titans must once again navigate the challenges of a key player’s rehabilitation.

The management is fully committed to providing Ogunsanya with the best possible treatment and medical attention to ensure her complete recovery. The statement concluded with a call for support:

“Let us all keep Aduke in our prayers for her quick and complete recovery. Thank you!”
