Terrence Hill backtracks on Utah State commitment

Terrence Hill announced his decision to decommit from Division I school Utah State.

The 19-year-old forward made the announcement on Saturday evening (Manila time).

The 6-foot-3 talent expressed his gratitude to Utah State’s basketball recruiting staff for the opportunity they offered him.

However, after careful consideration and discussions with his family, Hill ultimately decided to retract his commitment to the university.

“First off, I would like to thank the whole Utah State Basketball recruiting staff for recruiting me and giving me the opportunity to play at the next level. This has been a tough decision and not an easy one to make,” he said.

“But after talking it over with my family, I have decided to decommit from Utah State University.”

Hill’s decision comes after an impressive performance during the 2024 Smart-NBTC National Finals, where he showcased his skills on the court.

Leading Fil-Am Nation to victory, Hill left an indelible mark, earning the prestigious Most Outstanding Player honors.

Throughout the tournament, he showed his versatility, averaging 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, catching the attention of top universities in the Philippines.

Now, with his recruitment status reopened, Hill is poised to explore opportunities closer to home.

While Utah State may have been his initial choice, Hill is now considering offers from various local universities, eager to make the best decision for his future.

For now, Hill is plotting his next move, waiting on offers that will come by.

“Please respect my decision! Thank you, Aggie Nation, for everything, and to all the Utah State Coaches… My recruitment is 100% open!”
