Pando’s mother attends first live match to cheer AP.Bren

It may have been just a usual MPL Philippines regular season match for AP.Bren, but for Vincent “Pando” Unigo, it was something he had been waiting for so long.

After all, for the first time, his mom watched him play in the MPL PH arena.

“Nung nag-OFW siya, wala pa’ko sa Bren nun eh. Ngayon nasaktuhan na nakauwi siya at nakapaglaro ako. Sobrang tagal niya na akong sinusuportahan online. Masaya lang ako na andiyan siya para sa akin,” shared Pando on how this match meant to him

Vanessa Unigo, Pando’s mother, has been an OFW for almost 10 years now, and fortunately, her 25-day vacation coincided with the regular season.

Despite the significant distance, his mom went all out in supporting Pando’s journey in the professional esports scene.

“Lagi akong present sa every game ng AP.Bren. Even in the amateur games, I’m always there in the livestream kahit zero knowledge ako sa MLBB,” she said during the broadcast interview with the league hosts.

The 21-year-old exp laner revealed that one of his goals in his career in the MLBB pro scene is to earn enough so that his mom doesn’t need to work abroad anymore.

So far, he’s been performing well as AP.Bren’s solid sixth man.

“If I need assistance kung papano ko iaassess yung performance ng exp laner namin then I would have him look at the game then magbibigay siya ng opinion sakin which is a good thing kasi there are players na di kayang gawin yun,” said AP.Bren head coach Duckey of Pando.

“Another thing is yung vibe that he brings to the team. You play with a mix of characters kasi when you have a roster and Pando is one of those guys na gusto kong kasama kasi masaya. I think that’s one of the key factors if you’re looking for a sixth man, bukod sa pagiging magaling dapat maganda din yung vibe.”
