Cignal and Criss Cross stars headlined the Alas Pilipinas squad bound for Japan for the 2025 AVC Men’s Champions League.
Nearly a month after battling it out in a hard-fought finals series in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference, the HD Spikers and King Crunchers will now join forces to represent the country on the continental stage.
Included in the national team are Cignal standouts Jau Umandal, Steven Rotter, Wendel Miguel, Lloyd Josafat, Vince Lorenzo, Louie Ramirez, EJ Casaña, JP Bugaoan, and Owa Retamar.
Also making the cut are Criss Cross’ Marck Espejo, Gian Glorioso, Kim Malabunga, and Lucca Mamone.
Meanwhile, Savouge’s up-and-coming playmaker JM Paglaon earned a slot following a stellar campaign with the Spin Doctors that saw them finish with back-to-back bronze medals in the Spikers’ Turf.
Completing the squad is Ike Barilea, who is a product of Team 1Silay, which competed in the PNVF U21 National Finals.
Alas Pilipinas, who will be carrying the Cignal HD Spikers banner in the Asian club tourney, is grouped in Pool B along with powerhouse clubs Osaka Bluteon (Japan) and Shanghai Bright (China).
The AVC Men’s Champions League, scheduled from May 11 to 18, will be held Hirakata and Kyoto.
