Terrence Romeo ruled out of San Miguel’s Sunday clash vs TNT

Unfortunately, PBA fans will not Terrence Romeo go up against his former team TNT KaTropa – yet.

San Miguel Beermen head coach Leo Austria ruled out the possibility of the flamboyant scoring guard suiting up for SMB when they take on the flagship MVP franchise on Sunday, January 27, thanks to an ankle injury.

Romeo hurt his left ankle in the third quarter of the Beermen’s 118-124 loss to the Columbian Dyip last January 18. He missed San Miguel’s game versus the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel last Sunday, which they won, 99-91.

“No Terrence since he got his ankle injury,” confirmed Austria moments after the Beermen’s 105-93 win over the Meralco Bolts on Friday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City – the second straight game Romeo has missed.

Austria also revealed that Romeo hasn’t been able to join the team’s practices since he got hurt.

“Never pa since nagka-injury dahil ayaw namin ma-aggravate yun.

“But everyday magte-therapy siya,” said the three-time Coach of the Year.

Romeo’s absence on Sunday would spoil his first meeting with the KaTropa, whom he reportedly had a falling out with that ultimately led to his trade back in the off-season in exchange for Brian Heruela, David Semerad, and a future draft pick.

But Austria said that the six-year pro is more keen on healing himself so he can help the moment he comes back.

“I think he wants to be back 100 percent because everybody is expecting him to do well.”
