Sean Manganti on apparent ‘rift’ with Franz Pumaren: ‘We gotta go our separate ways’

Sean Manganti does not want to make a big deal out of his reported rift with college mentor Franz Pumaren anymore.

“I don’t expect anything. I don’t wanna make a big deal out of it,” said Manganti moments after his Che’lu Bar and Grill Revellers’ 82-77 loss to the St. Clare College-Virtual Reality in the 2019 PBA D-League, Thursday afternoon.

GMA News reported recently that Manganti’s relationship with Pumaren had been fractured, and that the two haven’t spoken to each other since the UAAP Season 81 Final Four, when the Adamson Falcons lost to the UP Fighting Maroons.

“I hit him with a huge super long text expressing my gratitude and my thankfulness for everything he’s done for me. And I unloaded my heart onto a text, and I got nothing back,” the athletic forward said in the report.

The said report had sought the side of the multi-titled bench strategist regarding the issue, in which Pumaren said: “Marami rin akong text messages na hindi nire-reply-an. I have other things to do, I have other jobs.”

“What’s there to clarify? Wala kaming problema. We’re not dealing with a twelve-year-old, fourteen-year-old kid here,” furthered the five-time UAAP champion coach in the report.

“I’m a very busy individual, he should know that.

Manganti has read since what his coach had said.

“I’ve read it. It is what it is,” he said.

“He’s a busy guy.”

Given that, Manganti has seemingly accepted what has happened, and he’s now moving forward.

“We gotta go our separate ways. They’ll continue their business, and I’ll continue mine.”
