George Pascua calls on remaining FEU Lady Tamaraws to play for injured teammates

The Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws have had an up-and-down UAAP Season 81 Women’s Volleyball tournament campaign.

And they’ll now need to power through more challenges.

At the most critical juncture of their five-set match against the Adamson University Lady Falcons on Sunday afternoon, the Lady Tamaraws lost leading scorer and rookie sensation Lycha Ebon to a right knee injury.

But instead of losing steam, FEU buckled down and eked out a five-setter, their fifth win this season.

Sana makabalik sila sa next game namin,” said FEU head coach George Pascua of his injured wards.

Aside from Ebon, veteran middle blocker Jeanette Villareal also sprained her right ankle, though she is likely to be available for their match against University of the East on Saturday.

On the other hand, Ebon will require more care. According to FEU physical therapist Marilou Regidor, Ebon will need to undergo more tests once the swelling in her knee subsides. Ebon has been ruled out for Saturday’s match since she will need to rest, regardless of the test results.

Pascua wants this to inspire determination from his otherwise inconsistent wards.
