There’s more to life than taking part in PBA All-Star for Sean Anthony

At this point, the upcoming 2019 PBA All-Star Weekend has become the least of Sean Anthony’s concerns.

One of the most infamous All-Star snubs, Anthony isn’t stressing about it anymore, especially now that his NorthPort Batang Pier have inched closer and closer to the Philippine Cup playoffs.

Anthony and NorthPort refueled their aspirations when they defeated the Alaska Aces, 94-84, Wednesday.

“I’m actually happy that I can just relax and focus more,” the six-year pro said.

“I’m happy that I can be at the gym, have this break to relax my legs, and just make sure I’m focused and all ready.”

Wednesday’s win marked NorthPort’s second straight after six consecutive losses. After being in danger once, the Batang Pier are currently seventh in the standings.

“Still alive, still breathing. Not out of the hole yet. At least we can see the light,” expressed the 33-year-old cager born in Vancouver with a smile.

Anthony had lamented the NorthPort’s fourth-quarter woes during their struggles, so he’s much happier now that the Batang Pier have addressed their issues.

This was the case on Wednesday. When they blew an 11-point lead and allowed the Aces to overtake, 71-74, they stayed composed and eventually made a 19-4 run for a 90-78 lead to seal it.

“We just held our composure, we didn’t force anything. We relied on team defense and team offense and just chipped away,” he said.

“That has been the key in the last two games.”
