Stephanie Niemer crowned as PSL Grand Prix MVP

After a heartbreaking first stint in the PSL, Stephanie Niemer made sure she wouldn’t suffer again three years later.

Niemer, who suffered a sweep back in the 2016 PSL Grand Prix, was hailed as the Most Valuable Player of the 2019 edition of the import-laden tourney, Saturday.

The 6-foot-1 spiker towed the Petron Blaze Spikers to a 17-game winning streak heading to the Finals.

Though they suffered a Game One loss, the 25-year-old native of Kentucky lifted Petron in Games 2 and 3 to win her first crown in the Philippines.

She was also named as the tournament’s Best Scorer.

Fellow Petron import Kath Bell was named as the Best Outside Hitter.

The other import awardees were PLDT’s Grace Lazard as the Best Foreign Middle Blocker; and Cignal’s Erica Wilson as the Best Foreign Opposite Spiker.

Rhea Dimaculangan was honored as the league’s top setter.

F2 Logistics’ Aby Marano brought home her eighth Best Local Middle Blocker trophy, Dawn Macandili took down her fifth Best Libero plum, while Ara Galang won the Best Local Outside Spiker award.

PLDT’s Aiko Urdas completed the All-PSL Team, as she was the Best Local Opposite Spiker.
