F2 Logistics dashes Sta. Lucia out of Final Four race as Kalei Mau returns

Kalei Mau announced her return to the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and orchestrated the straight-set romp of Sta. Lucia, booting the Lady Realtors out of semifinals race, 25-22, 25-15, 25-15, in the 2019 PSL Invitationals, Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Fil-Hawaiian Mau made a successful recovery from an injured Achilles, showing the way for the Cargo Movers with all of her 12 points coming from attacks.

“Mas nagkaroon ako ng option [kasi] bumalik ‘yung go-to guy. And ‘yun na lang siguro yung kumpiyansa ni Kalei, ‘yun ang pag-uusapan,” said F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus.

Ara Galang and Kim Kianna Dy also did their part in the rousing end to F2 Logistics’ elimination campaign with 10 markers each. The former also dropped a pair of kill blocks and service aces, while the latter fired seven attacks.

F2 Logistics captain Aby Maraño supplied eight points, with a pair coming from the service area. Meanwhile, Majoy Baron chimed in five markers.

Kim Fajardo distributed the wealth for the F2 Logistics with her steady setting. The grizzled playmaker dished out 11 excellent sets for the Cargo Movers, who rained down 38 attacks. On the other hand, defensive specialist Dawn Macandili collected 20 excellent sets.

Following a close-quarter opening salvo, the Cargo Movers kicked their offense into a higher gear in the succeeding frames. They sprinted to a 19-6 spread in the second chapter, then mounted a 22-11 cushion in the decisive third set.

MJ Phillips top-billed with 15 points, but was the lone double-digit scorer for the Lady Realtors, who bowed out of contention with 2-4 slate. Eli Soyud managed seven markers from five attacks and two aces.
