Meralco was ready for TNT’s KO punch, prides Durham

On Saturday, Allen Durham and Meralco showed in Game Four of their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semis clash with TNT that their costly late-game blunder two nights ago has hardly affected them.

The former two-time Best Import committed an error in the final seconds when he passed the ball to Cliff Hodge, whom he thought was open but was actually outside.

And the Bolts bounced back well, taking a 95-83 victory to level the series at two games apiece.

“I’m happy that we got a good game. I can kinda put that behind me,” said Durham, who finished with 36 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists in the conquest.

“I’m happy for the win.”

Durham said it was their hunger for redemption, and not head into an early vacation, that made the win possible.

“Everybody was hungry,” said the 31-year-old.

“We got deflections, tips, steals in key moments of the game. That’s just showing everyone’s hunger to win and get back to where we wanna go.”

Durham feels very proud of everyone’s performances, and he now hopes that they can continue their ways come the winner-take-all Game Five on Monday, December 23, still at Ynares Center.

“I’m proud of them. We knew TNT was gonna try to hit us with a knockout punch, and we knew we had to weather the storm. But not only weather the storm but send our own punch as well,” he said.

“Our guys did it and I’m proud of them. We gotta do the same thing on Monday.”
