Doujin suffers first loss, still snags top spot in The Nationals Tekken 7

Laus Auto Group Playbook Esports ’ Doujin snatched the top slot despite dropping his first series in the tournament, while teammate AK slid down to number two in The Nationals Season 2 Tekken 7 group stages, Wednesday evening.

Doujin opened the day strong, sweeping Happy Feet Emperors’ Hapon, 3-1, 3-1, playing Lee.

The Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist, however, hit a snag. He saw his 12-game winning streak come to a halt at STI EOlympians’ Don Argus, 1-3, 0-2. He used Lee and Jin, respectively, in the shocking loss.

Though suffering his first loss in the tourney, Doujin still managed to reclaim the number one seed finishing the day with a 23-7 card for 33 points.

AK struggled in both of his matches, dropping his first rounds against SEO’s Rakenrol and Happy Feet Emperors’ Coffee_Prinz!, before staging come-from-behind wins, 0-3, 3-0, 3-1, and 2-3, 3-1, 3-1, respectively.

The reigning champion opened both series using Julia while finishing both playing Kazumi. He now has a 25-10 win-loss slate good for 32 points in the second spot, trailing Doujin, who is ahead by a solitary point.

BREN Epro’s Maru (23-13) and Cignal Ultra Warriors’ Vermillion, meanwhile, forged a two-way tie in the third place with 28 points apiece.

HFE’s Hapon stayed in the fourth place with a 21-13 standing and 26 points. CUW’s NatureLover climbed up to the fifth spot with a 16-15 slate good for 22 points.

HFE’s Coffee_Prinz! (16-21) claimed the sixth seat with 18 points while Smart Omega’s Pica (15-21) rounded up the top eight with 17 points.

BRE’s Mawts (15-24) and SMO’s Jules (13-20) figured in a logjam at the ninth place with 15 points. SEO’s Don Argus (11-23), who wielded the upset axe on Doujin, and teammate Rakenrol (6-27) ended in the tenth and eleventh place, respectively.
