SMART Omega continues heater run, seals MPL-PH playoff spot

Smart Omega clinched the first playoff seat in Group B after handing Cignal Ultra a 2-0 beating in week six of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines, Saturday.

With KurTzy (Thamuz) and Toshi (Freya) taking control of both Omega’s side lanes, Hadjizy (Ling) was able to farm up resources to give the Smart-backed squad a three-thousand gold advantage. This, despite only leading by a solitary point in the kills department, 4-3, entering the eight-minute mark of Game Two.

Looking to end the match, Omega secured the lord in the 11:30-mark. However, Hadess’ Claude scaled just in time to give Cignal some much-needed firepower to defend its camp.

Cignal, which lost all of its turrets already, fell in the 17:24-mark of the game as Omega once again turned to the lord to finish the game.

Hadjizy was responsible for four of Omega’s nine kills. Haze (Chang’e), meanwhile, was named match MVP after putting up a 2-0-4 KDA.

With the victory, Omega claimed the top spot in Group B with a 7-3 standing for a total of 22 points.

On the other hand, Hadess was the lone bright spot Cignal with four kills, a death, and two assists. Cignal remain in the fourth spot in Group B with a 3-6 record — good for 10 points.

In other games, defending champion Aura PH solidified its hold of the number one spot in Group A after a 2-0 sweep of playoff-bound Blacklist International. Meanwhile, ONIC PH booted out BSB from the playoff race, 2-0.

Aura PH upped its standing to 9-1, while ONIC PH improved to a 6-3 win-loss standing.
