NXP deals arch-rival Execration heartbreak in MPL-PH

Nexplay Solid had the last laugh after a series of heated online banters, claiming vengeance on rival Execration, 2-1, in front of almost 400 thousand viewers online in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines week seven, Friday evening.

The troika of Yawi (Hilda), Chester (Selena), and Renejay (Thamuz) paved the way for NXP to take the opening match. The three provided much-needed early game aggression which made Ch4knu’s Natalia obsolete.

Despite his crucial pickoffs on H2wo (Lancelot), Ch4knu struggled with the team composition of NXP. He had four deaths under the six-minute mark, finishing the game with a lowly stat line of two kills, eight deaths, and three assists.

But the Execration star bounced back in the second game, putting two kills, three deaths, and eight assists. He even had a game-changing three-man fatal link which ended H2wo (Ling), MB (Ruby), and Yawi (Selena), and set up the triple kill for S4gitnu (Yu Zhong). Execration then evened the match at 1-all.

Execration had an unorthodox draft in Game Three, giving the Franco to Ch4knu with the idea of delaying NXP’s buff. The pick backfired, though, as NXP countered with a two-tank setup of Akai (Chester) and Hilda (Yawi) to guard H2wo’s Roger.

H2wo led NXP with six kills and seven assists, while MB had three kills and seven dimes. That pushed NXP’s standing to a 5-5 standing with 13 points, moving five points within Execration, who tallied 18 points through a 5-5 record in Group A.

On the other hand, Ejhay finally made his Season Six debut. BREN Esports stamped its class on the struggling BSB, 2-0, in the match hounded by technical difficulties.

KarlTzy (Lancelot) dominated anew, ending the game with eight kills, a death, and 11 assists. Ribo (Uranus) had seven kills, a death, and seven assists in the series-clinching Game Two.

With the victory, BREN improved its standing to 9-1 while also tallying a league-best 26 points.

BSB, on the other hand, dropped its ninth game in 10 outings — good for just six points.
